MEET MEGAN
Megan Hand, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
Megan received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Radford University. She brings over a decade of experience treating early language delays and speech-language disorders. She has supported children of all ages across multiple settings, including early intervention and public and private schools.
Megan founded Playhouse Kids to meet the needs of the children and families in her community in a way that makes them feel welcomed, heard and empowered through every step of the process. Her focus is on connection and seeing every child as a person, giving them power through communication. When children experience this power to express themselves, they have the confidence to reach the highest possibilities.

Megan understands that children learn best when having fun and are most motivated when they feel connected. That is why play is such an important part of the learning process. Whether she meets with clients virtually or face-to-face, she takes a collaborative approach to solving problems, developing plans, and delivering therapy that aligns with each family's values.

When Megan is not supporting the many families she works with, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their four children. She loves reading, hiking, spending time outdoors, writing, and listening to music.

"Education begins the moment we see children as innately wise and capable beings. Only then can we play along in their world."

GETTING STARTED
1
Get started with a free 20-minute phone consultation with me! We will discuss any questions or concerns you may have about your child's speech and language development and answer any questions you have about my services or the process.
2
Our first session will begin with an evaluation to gather information about your child’s abilities. We will review the findings together and discuss any questions you may have. Based on the evaluation results, we will develop customized therapy goals to address areas of concern.
3
Depending on your child’s needs, we will meet in person or virtually at a frequency that best meets you and your child's needs. Data will be collected and progress reports will be provided. Therapy is always based on current research and driven by the needs and interests of clients. Once your family’s goals have been met, your child will be discharged from therapy.
